He studied at the Johann-Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, attended the St. Gallen Business School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Ernesto Schmutter held various management positions at MicroWarehouse, Macrotron and Ingram Micro. After a 5-month project in Brazil, since 2010 he has been a member of the European Executive Staff of Ingram Micro Europe and, as managing director, he headed the European procurement organization of PanEuropeGmbH. Prior to founding his own company, he headed all areas of IngramMicro Germany as Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer.
